I've been an Android user since my first Droid, and Mobilism is probably my go to place for all my program needs. There is an apk you can directly install from http://images.mobilism.org/files/market/MobilismMarketV1.91.apk

You can directly search from within the app, and although a lot of the apps require root to run properly, there are so many apps available.
