What are the uses of the PHP programming language?
« on: 14. February 2022., 13:27:04 »
PHP is a very popular scripting language for web development. It is used to develop web applications and website development. PHP programming combines with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in order to create dynamic websites.
PHP is a multi-purpose language
1- Web Development
PHP can be used to develop websites and eCommerce stores.
2- Web Application Development
PHP is used to develop web applications with the help of various frameworks such as Laravel, Codeigniter and Yii.
3- Content Management Systems (CMS)
WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and Magento are developed in PHP.
4- Server Side Scripting
PHP can be used as a server-side scripting language. As it is a server-side language so it can access the database, send emails, build pages dynamically, etc.
5- Command Line Scripts
PHP can be used for command-line scripting by using its built-in CLI SAPI (Server API). This allows you to create custom scripts using PHP.
6- Desktop Applications
PHP also has bindings to GUI libraries like GTK+. This allows you to use PHP to develop desktop applications.
PHP programming is an amazing and popular language! It is powerful enough to be at the core of the biggest blogging system on the web (WordPress)! It is deep enough to run the largest social network (Facebook)!
It is also easy enough to be a beginner's first server side language! PHP stays close to its roots. It is a deep language that allows developers to do much more than build simple web applications.
The first thing that comes to mind is dynamic websites. PHP programming language is probably the most widely used language for web development in the world, and if you're interested in developing websites, you'll need to learn it sooner or later.
PHP can also be used for command-line scripts. I do this regularly for manipulating files and directories on my server. It's also possible to use PHP to build desktop applications (using a tool like Qt), although the learning curve is considerably steeper than web development.
