A Forex broker is not necessarily out to get you, but they can make your trading experience more difficult. They have full control over your trading platform and can spike you out of your position as the market oscillates up and down. They can initially set up your platform to be less than user-friendly. You can change your settings, but until you do that, the defaults may be set up to entice you to trade more. Flashing lights, vibrant colors, etc., can be distracting. They may encourage you to use indicators and other studies to take your focus off of order flow and manipulation. The market makers are taking the other side of your trade, and with traders overtrading, using excess leverage, etc., the market maker has the probabilities in their favor. The broker needs traders to generate commission revenue, but they don't care what happens to any individual trader. Their focus is marketing to get new traders onto their books and increase revenue.
