"The Best Security Suite ?"

IMO The best sec suite is an informed user/admin who develops and maintains good safe practices. It doesn't matter what tools you have on board if you don't know how, when, where, & why.

vote for Kaspersky, because it's the only paid security suite that I ever buy for my home PC (laptop) .... at least for one year  ;D

I also have to update Windows and all other software on it regularly

And conclution of this vote is that ther have been more discussion of this then have voted.
@ today 33 vots and about 40 discussion post's.

So who have the best suite is to be discussed not voted.  ;D

My opinion is that all large wellknown manufactures have more and less good protection. The differnence is normaly in tests depending of the time of a lifecycle of a suite and taste of the user. You probebly don't wan't to change a suite under the time you have a ongoing subscription and if you are happy with the suit you probebly wan't to change eather.

So this is more an less a discussion relevant to this who is unhappy with ther chois for some reason or use a freeware or non protection.

What I know all the large toolkit have ther pros and cons so it is like to by a car you need to find that one that is suited for you or if you are paranoide find several to use togheter.  ;)

Normaly I use a combination. I use my routers Firewall and Windows built in Firewall in the computer. Then McAfee VirusScan 8.8 with some adjusted settings i the onacces scan (no read scan on trusted and normal files just write protection) this to improve the performence of the computers. Then I use also the Spybot - Search & Destroy to protect with ther immunize and regular scanning with it.
Some times I also use the VirusScan to scan the system if I got something downloaded that was not protected earier but have been updated in the defenition.
Then I also have defention updated normaly every 6 houer.
Imprtent also to learn what task that is normaly running in the system so it is easier to find if somthing new have started that should not be ther (but this is just for freek that want to know everything what thay do in the system and way).
Then the most importent update the system with the security patches as fast I feel that is stabile.

After this I use common sense what I download or ware I surf on the web and what I download and dont puch OK on every popups that I see.
If I see something suspisius in the system or ther behaver start a scan with the tools and see what it find. If that don't get rid of it then ther can bee a good idea to scan the system with a remot system or by shutingdown the system and temporary conect the systemdisk to a other system and scan the disk from that boot. A other way is to allready have prepair a boot device like a CD or USB to coldboot the system on and scan the systemdisk from that one and try to cleen it.

This methode is applicable on more and less all security sute and make in my veiw for me a good protection. The most importent is to learn a user to not puch OK on everything thay see.  >:D

But then Im a little bit paranoide also and dont wan't to do extra work and clean a network of computers from Virus.  ;D

My frend from work use Microsoft Security Essentials  and it is very satisfy.

I use NOD ESS, and I am install every security or critical windows update.

I also use some tools for help after my system is infected like GMER, Combofix. GMER is great and simple rootkit remover.
