After huge number of problems with URL shortening services, for example here is Symantec's blog story "Large scale malware attack using URL shortening services": http://www.symantec.com/connect/blogs/large-scale-malware-attack-using-url-shortening-services , regular internet users don't trust them anymore and they prefer to know where link goes...

That's not related to You, simply with direct link they will more likely take a part in mentioned contest.
