Do You Remember Your First Mobile Phone?
« on: 23. May 2012., 08:42:19 »

Looking at that sleek smartphone by your side, it’s probably hard to believe that you ever owned a mobile phone “brick” or a RAZR that you thought was the bomb. Take a walk down memory lane and tell us about your first mobile phone. Do you miss it?

Do You Remember Your First Mobile Phone?

These were my dumb phones. In fact other than a short-lived Treo (returned!) this is every phone I owned prior to the first iPhone. I know, I know. I should have sent them to soldiers. But I didn't.

Earlier today, all of us from Gizmodo were talking about how much money we used to pay for dumb phones, and I dug up this old picture. And then I was suddenly nostalgic! I mean, I wouldn't take any of those phones back on a bet. Not even the T68i, which was the world's best phone prior to the iPhone. But I do have a lot of fond memories of playing snake on that Nokia to the far left. And then there was the time the cops kicked in the door while I was playing a bowling game on that Nokia in the middle. (Really. Ask me about it in person some time.) And omg, I remember when I bought that RAZR it was the hottttttttnessssss.

Today, they're all basically junk. Just like my first iPhone. And my second iPhone. And my old Nexus One. But for some reason, I'm more nostalgic for these pieces of junk than those. Maybe just because they're from a bygone era. What about you? Before the smartphone came along, what did you have in your pocket?

Yes and No !

In this build it is a (what thay call a cellphon) It is realy a tree parts phone. A handset with the cord (at the top), key's and display. The lower part is a two part with a sender/reciver (at the right with the antena) and on and attach on that part you also have the battery pack (at the left) that you disaseble when you connect it to a car.

So in this config it is a handheld device at about 4 kilo. You carry the cellphone with a shoulder-strap as in this old comersal.

Oh, I had Siemens A55 at the time when polyphonic ringtones just started to be popular.
I loved that phone, I'd regularly break its screen but it worked very well :) memories..
