Fake emails allegedly coming from the Taxoffice "Skatteverket" spread right now. There are different varieties, such as the recipient is invited to open an attachment that allegedly contains tips on declaration deduction. Taxoffice is not the sender, and will make a police report.

- We are looking seriously at this and urge anyone who has received an email of this nature that neither click on links, open attachments or hand over details of bank account numbers or credit card numbers. E-mail is false and we will make a police report shortly, said Anders Kylesten, head of security at Skatteverket.Den fake email appears in different versions. In an invited the recipient to click on an attachment to thus get tips on what deductions can be made in the declaration. Another variant is said to come from Telia customer service, while Taxoffice seems as sender.

Fake emails are reported to the police

Many people have heard of the Tax Agency regarding fake emails that appear to come from the Swedish Tax Agency. The taxoffice is not the sender of the mail.

There are different varieties, such as the recipient is invited to open an attachment that allegedly contains tips on declaration deduction. Another variant is said to come from Telia customer service, while taxoffice is the sender. Headlines can be VAT invoice, tax account, cash and more.

- We are looking seriously at this and urge anyone who has received an email of this nature that neither click on links, open attachments or hand over details of bank account numbers or credit card numbers. E-mail is false and we have made a police report about someone else claiming to be the taxoffice, says Anders Kylesten, head of security at the Swedish Tax Agency.

If you receive a bogus email, you do not contact the taxoffice on this. We have received information about a large number of emails in many different variations and it is sufficient as a basis for us.

If you accidentally click a link in the email, you may suffer from viruses or so-called Trojans. Contact your IT support if you are worried.
