What are the offer details?

Any new Box user will receive a free 50GB account when they download and log into Box for Android on any LG Android device. Existing Box users will receive the upgrade when they log into Box for Android on their device.
The offer is valid from through 9/30/14.
What devices qualify for the 50GB upgrade?

All LG Android devices worldwide, including phones and tablets. Sample devices include: LG DoublePlay C729, LG Esteem MS910, LG Optimus and LG G-Slate.
How do I get my 50GB?

If you’re brand new to Box, you’ll need to download the app from your Android device. Open the app once the download is complete, and sign up for a free Box account. After the sign up is complete, log into your account from the device. Your upgrade should be complete and you’ll see a confirmation message.
If you already have an older version of the Box app on your Android device, you just need to sign into your account on your device and the upgrade should be complete. Note that this promotion is only for free Box Personal accounts; if you are a Business, Enterprise or paid Personal customer you do not qualify for this promotion.
So how long will I get the 50GB? Will my account ever be downgraded to 5GB? 

Once you get your 50GB Box account, you’ll never be downgraded. The limited part of this promotion is that you only have until December 31, 2012 * to get the upgrade; once you have it, the space is yours for the life of the account. 
Should I deactivate my Box account and activate a new one to get the 50GB?

No, you don’t need to deactivate and activate a new account. Just log into your account from the device.
What if I already deactivated my account?

If you have deactivated your account, it will need to be turned on again by our support team. Contact support at support.box.com.
What should I do if I accidentally registered with the wrong email address?

If you accidentally signed up with a ‘bad’ email address – one you don’t have access to – you’ll have to sign up for a new account using the correct address.
If you used an email address that you have access to, but would prefer a different address, you can make the switch easily in your account settings on the Box site.
What if I already have a paid Box Personal account? Can I get the 50GB upgrade?

If you already have a paid Box Personal account, you can choose to downgrade your account in order to get the 50GB of storage. Please note that you will lose some of the added features from the paid account, including a 1GB upload limit, folder downloads, password-protected links, version history, etc. In order to downgrade to the free account, please contact support at 1-877-729-4269.
If I already have a 50GB account from another promotion, do I get 50GB more of storage?

We’re excited you’ve already taken advantage of one of our other promotions, but unfortunately the 50GB upgrade is one time only.
I got the 50GB upgrade, but does that mean I only have the extra space for my Android phone or tablet?

Now that you have a 50GB Box account, you have access to that space from anywhere, on any device. It is not limited to your Xperia Android device – access your 50GB of content from anywhere you use Box.

I got the promo... Multiple times from one device ; -)

BUT... I should be able to share 50GB accounts with friends too!

I used the LG promotion to upgrade my account to a very nice 50GB (thank you!)

To my surprise I got an email that I can share this wealth with friends! Great! But...

Both the link in the email as in the webportal for box.com bring me to non-responding page: https://app.box.com/vpromo/invite?utm_source=in_app_marketing&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=vpromo

It appears that your firewall may be blocking Box or you are encountering an error.

Please contact your IT administrator to configure your firewall to recognize all sub-domains of .box.com, .box.net, .boxcloud.com and .boxcdn.net. The ports used on these domains are 80 and 443.

If that does not resolve the issue, then please submit a support ticket at https://app.box.com/help.

But I do not use firewall software and I even got it on a Mac laptop at my friend's place... At home I use Chrome & Windows.
What could be going on? Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks for contacting Box Support. I’d like to take a closer look at the issue you described, so would you mind sending me a screenshot of it?

Here’s how:

For PC:

Press the "Prt Scr"" key
Open a Microsoft Paint document and paste the image into the program
Save this file and attach it to your reply
For Mac:

Press the "Command" key, the "Shift" key and the number "3" key at the same time
Attach the image file that appears on your desktop to your reply

Hello Ruben, no screenshot needed... Happens on many browsers, systems and even ISP's...

When I log in to my account, I get greeted with:
"Give Co-Workers Free 50GB Box Accounts
Now that you have a 50GB Box account at no cost, pass it on and invite your co-workers to join Box as well! They'll receive the same 50GB of file sharing and storage on Box for free. Give 50GB now."

If I press that link (Give 50GB now), I will go to the following URL:

https://app.box.com/vpromo/invite?utm_source=in_app_marketing&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=vpromo

And that page gives the following text:

Hi,

Thank you for your message and I am sorry for your inconvenience.

Please let your friend or co-worker create a free personal account from www.box.com/signup and just let us know if he is done signing up so that we can manually increase his file storage to 50GB file storage.

Pleas let us know for us to assist you in this issue.

They updated the promo page...

1. Update login info with your email address (e.g. john@company.com)
  Your current email address (devnullius@gmail.com) is not supported for this promotion.

I requested some more information, this is what they told me:
"Thank you for contacting Box Support.

In order to take advantage of the promotion you can not have a free mail domain, these are not ones that are supported for the promotion.

Most freemail domains are blacklisted (3,928 total domains), meaning users will have to register with and send invites to a different, approved domain.

Examples of blacklisted domains include: gmail.com, yahoo.com, ymail.com, hotmail.com, yahoo.co, aol.com, msn.com, live.com, me.com, cox.net.

You can check to see if you are eligible for the promotion, just go here: https://www.box.net/vpromo/invite.

Eligible accounts will see an invitation form or a page asking them to change their email address (from a freemail address to a business domain address).
